Students find a career in Hospitality Management

Finding a career in hospitality management is not limited to working in hotels or restaurants. Students with this degree can work in any number of professions, such as club managers, event planners, and banquet directors, among many other choices. James Madison University will help your students achieve their hospitality career goals so that they can join JMU alumni working at companies like Aramark, the Four Seasons Hotel, Marriott, McDonald’s Corporation, and the Ritz-Carlton Club.

Here are three reasons your students to choose JMU’s program, which is ranked No. 12 on Study.com’s list of Best Hospitality Programs in the U.S. (2020):

  1. Gain real-world experiences. Hospitality management students graduate from JMU with more than 1,000 hours of work experience, and they earn academic credit for that work. Internships are available at JMU’s on-campus Hotel Madison and through Aramark, the university’s dining/food service, and the university will help students seek out other internships as well. Watch this video to learn more.
  2. Make global connections. JMU’s focus on student engagement and its large alumni network are a primary benefit for choosing the Hospitality Management program. Connections exist beyond the classroom, so students have access to opportunities across the U.S. and globally. Watch this video to learn more about engagement opportunities for Hospitality Management students.
  3. Find career success. At JMU, the Hart School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management hosts career fairs each year for Hospitality Management students, even during virtual learning. Students can meet with a variety of companies, network with employers, and find out what companies are looking for along with possible job opportunities. Of 2019 Hart School graduates, 98% are employed, continuing their education, or engaged in other career-related activities.

The Hospitality Management program is available to undergraduate students enrolling in the International Year at the JMU International Study Center and by direct admission.

ISC Scholarships Are Available

Students are eligible for Study Group scholarships valued at US$3,000 to US$8,000 when they are admitted to the JMU ISC. Progression scholarships are available after students progress from the ISC, starting with their JMU studies in Fall 2021.
